Diagnosis of Water Quality in an Urban Wetland

Purpose: The objective was to evaluate the water quality based on physical and chemical parameters in different quadrants of an urban wetland correlate variables that may show possible natural anthropogenic polluting sources. Theoretical framework: Wetlands are essential ecosystems for maintenance ecological balance, biodiversity organisms, reserves. Studies wetlands important understanding their preservation level, elucidating need conservationist actions. Method/design/approach: area divided into four quadrants; samples were collected analysis chemical. When possible, results compared with limits established by CONAMA Resolution 357/2005 (class 1), which deals surface waters, literature. Results conclusion: Quadrant 3, presented riparian forest, invasive species, high deposition solid waste, showed a greater degree environmental impact. Changes several indicate impairment evaluated is mainly due action surrounding population. Research implications: as indicator socio-environmental actions can be implemented stimulate public power actions, ensuring its preservation. Originality/value: rare. irregular occupation banks denotes issue. valuable resource education practices schools.
